Training Your Pet Makes Life Easier Potty training your puppy can be a very frustrating task. Even more frustrating is having a puppy that is not potty trained. An adult dog that is not potty trained is a nightmare. You have to put up with embarrassing stains and odors. Many pet owners become very angry at their pets abd resort to such things as rubbing the pet's nose in the stain. This does absolutely no good, either for the puppy or the owner. Potty training for your pet is essential if you are going to continue to have the animal in your home. We have two toy poodles. With the first be paid a healthy sum to have him professionally trained. This involved him staying in the trainers home for over a month while the pet training went forth. When our "trained pet" came home, he would sit, and stay. He never would fetch. Our main concern was potty training our pet. We had a doggy door installed and Bobby learned how to use it in about 15 minutes. He still favored the dining room table legs for his relief spot. For weeks on end, I took him into the back yard on a leash to a specific spot in the yard as suggested so he could relieve himself. We bought the potty training pads, but neither of our dogs would use them. We also bought the sprays that was supposed to encourage them to use the training pads. They did not work either. This helped quite a bit but when we acquired our second puppy, Bobby reverted. He will still sit, stay and heel. Most of the time he goes outside to relieve himself. My wife went online and found a book called "Sit, Stay, Fetch". This book provides potty training techniques, along with pet training tips. It has helped somewhat. We have gotten away from the problem enough to where we are ready to have the carpet professionally cleaned again. I would recommend SitStayFetch as an aid to help train your pet. This the time of year that parents should read this intel, before they buy their children that first pup. Pets are 24/7 and most children don't realize what that means. The parents should have the children take a stuffed toy puppy for a walk, 4 times a day, in all types of weather. They might change their minds.
